Kenneth W. Dequaine

Kenneth W. Dequaine, 85, Abrams, died surrounded by his family Saturday morning, January 27, 2024 at Good Shepherd Meadow Wood.  He was born May 2, 1938 to Raymond and Florence (Delfosse) Dequaine.  Ken grew up in Green Bay where he graduated East High School with the class of 1957.  Following graduation, he served in the US Army Reserves.

On June 21, 1958 he married his high school sweetheart Barbara VanBeynen in Green Bay and together they had nine children.  Following their marriage they lived in Denmark and Allouez before moving to Abrams in 1979 where they owned and operated a farm.  Ken enjoyed racing pigeons, bee keeping and cabinet making over the years.  He was a member of St. Maximilian Catholic Kolbe Parish and the Knights of Columbus.  Ken will be lovingly remembered as a good father who was very proud of his family, the good times at the family cottage at Lee Lake, great sense of humor and being a good friend to all who knew him.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Barb Dequaine; their eight children, Ken “Butch” (Chris), Pam (Jim) Manders; Todd (Stacey), Tom (Billi), Paul (Jody), Kathy (Mark) Schreiber; Andy (Stacy) and Dean (Sarah); 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel and Dale (Colleen) Dequaine; two brothers-in-law, John (Ayleen) and Tom (Dorothy) VanBeynen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jackie, grandson Justin Dequaine, in-laws, George and Agnes VanBeynen and nephews Reese Dequaine and Tommy VanBeynen.

Visitation will be after 9:00 AM Friday, February 2, 2024 at St. Maximilian Catholic Church Kolbe until the time of services.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 noon at the church with the Rev. Fr. Francis Nusi officiating.  Burial will follow later in the day in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Stiles.

The Dequaine family would like to thank Good Shepherd Meadow Wood and Moments Hospice for the care and concern shown Ken during their time together.
