Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Morris

Nov 24, 1937 - Dec 12, 2023

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Morris, 86, Oconto Falls, was born in Danville, IL in 1937, the eldest child of Albert C. and Alvera Hosch and grew up in the small community of Richmond, IL.  Betty went to live with her Best Friend, Jesus on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Betty loved being a homemaker and enjoyed being creative.  She was an active member of St. Anthony Church and School as well as a Cub Scout Leader for many years.  Betty also was a member of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years and also volunteered for other causes.

After her children were in school, Betty worked at a number of part-time jobs and in 1983, was hired by Glenn and Doris Knox at their insurance agency.  She continued her work there, even after new ownership, until retiring in 2006.  An avid reader, Betty had a zest for learning throughout her entire life and for fun, joined the Red Hatters.

Survivors are her two sons, George Morris Jr., Lena; Richard (Kathy) Morris, Kelly Lake; one grandson, Ryan Morris; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Albert (Mary) Hosch and Richard Hosch, special niece Anna Fry as well as very special friends, Betty and Bob MacKenzie.

Visitation with the urn present will be held after 9:00 AM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Riverview Alliance Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service.  Memorial services will be 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Kevin Kuhn officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Oconto Falls.

Betty loved God and felt His blessing everyday.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Oconto Falls Community Library which Betty called her “home away from home”.

The Morris family would like to thank all the doctors and other medical providers for the care they gave their Mother through the years.  Mom always said God made sure she had the best doctors who cared for her as a person, not just a number.  We are also grateful to the wonderful neighbors and friends who helped her when she needed it.  May God bless all of you.
