Xenia Brehmer, 88, Oconto Falls, went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay.  She was born March 21, 1935 in Richmond, VA to Miles & Mary Louise (Ramos) Sparkman, Sr.

On December 30, 1954 she married Roland (Red) Brehmer, Sr. in Richmond, VA.  They started their lives and family together while Red was stationed in the Navy in Key West, FL eventually moving to Red’s hometown of Oconto Falls in 1957 where they raised their family of four.  Xenia was a devoted mother, homemaker, wonderful neighbor and friend.  She was happiest spending time in the presence of loved ones and especially enjoyed any event that included her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed making homemade dinner rolls for special events and the tradition of making Christmas cookies with her family.  She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) as well as the church choir and Bible Study group.  Her Christian faith was a top priority in her life.  She was also a member of the Auxiliary Post 302, Red Hatter’s Society and the Performing Arts Center.  She volunteered for American Red Cross blood drives in Oconto Falls.  Most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.  New friends and lifetime friends were all held closely to her heart.  Xenia was a caring, dear friend to all and was always putting someone else’s needs before her own.
