Sue McDermid

Mar 20, 1955 - May 10, 2021

Sue McDermid, 66, New London, died Monday morning, May 10, 2021 at home following a very short illness. She was born March 20, 1955 in Oconto Falls to Francis and Doris (Exferd) McDermid. Sue grew up in Oconto Falls before moving with her family to Pulaski where she graduated high school with the class of 1973. Sue drove a Yellow Cab taxi in Green Bay for many years before moving to Florida, where she was employed at a local VFW Club. She moved back to Wisconsin and has been living in New London for the past five years. She will be fondly remembered as being devoted to her special cat Missy.

Survivors are her four siblings, Leon McDermid, Athelstane; Peggy O’Mara and friend Gigi Weinstiger, New London; Jan (friend Charlie) McDermid, Shawano; Jon (friend Carol) McDermid, Bonduel; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Glen, Gary, Paul, Monte and Bill “Dawg” McDermid.

Visitation with the urn present will take place after 10 am Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home with her nephew Geoffrey McDermid officiating.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Shawano County Humane Society, 1290 Jaycee St. Shawano, WI 54166; phone: 715-526-2606.
