Sherrie Shallow, age 69, of Oconto Falls, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at St. Mary's Hospital, following a 5 month courageous battle with small cell lung cancer. She was born April 14, 1957 in Oconto Falls to Robert “Bobby” and Kathy (Perlick) Bitters. She graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1975.
Sherrie married Glen Meyer in 1977 and had three children; Mitchell, Bobbi Jo, and Joshua John “JJ”. After the two divorced, Sherrie married Kevin Shallow in 1991. Children; Kaleb, Natasha and Shea.
Sherrie worked in the office of her Aunt Merle and Uncle Jim Krause’s cheese factory in Morgan for over 25 years. She retired from the Saputo Cheese Factory office in 2016. Once retired, Sherrie was a familiar face at the counter at Kugel’s Cheese Mart in Lena where she enjoyed socializing with the customers.
Sherrie, as her dear friend Kay said, lived her life full steam ahead! She loved doing things her own way, from her flamboyant outfits (she had a few) to her robust hair (she had many shades)!
Sherrie is survived by her husband, Kevin Shallow; children, Bobbi Jo (JJ Kugel) Meyer, Joshua John “”JJ” Meyer, Kaleb (Jamie) Shallow, Natasha Shallow, and Shea (Jenny) Shallow; and grandchildren, Alexx and Kazlynn Meyer, Kaydence and Grace Shallow, Abbey Holtger Shallow, Gage Shallow and Emma Hansen. Sherrie loved being a Glamma to all of them. Sherrie is also survived by her siblings, Terry Bitters and Karen (Ron) Friedman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Judy (Mike Schmidt) Allan, Keith (Lynn) Shallow, Janet (Stanley) Cook, and Peggy (Bill) Belongia.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her infant son, Mitchell Meyer; her parents; in-laws, Chub and Joyce Shallow; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sherrie was cremated and there will be no formal funeral service. The family will hold a Celebration of Life in the near future.
