Ron W. Thomson, 84, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.  Although he passed a few weeks before their 64th wedding anniversary, he will be in Karen’s heart “until we meet again”.  He was born July 3, 1938, in the family home in rural Coleman to Henry and Evelyn (Lhotte) Thomson.  Ron grew up in Coleman where he attended school and moved to Oconto Falls while in high school.  He graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1956.

On February 7, 1959 he married Karen Jashinske at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Klondike.  The couple lived in Oconto Falls for all their married lives where Ron was employed at the Scott Paper Co. for over 36 years.  Following his retirement, Ron helped his son Scott in his excavating business.  He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and National Mutual Benefit in Madison, where he once served as an officer.  Ron served on the Town of Oconto Falls Board for 16 years.  As a people person, Ron also enjoyed meeting his many friends at the Antique Bar in Oconto Falls where they would be entertained by his “Ron-isms”.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Karen Thomson, Oconto Falls; their four children, Ronnie (Courtney) Thomson, Oconto Falls; Kerri (Toby) Schey, Howard; Kevin (fiancé Terri Schroth) Thomson and Scott (Julie Gilligan) Thomson, all of Oconto Falls; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Daniel and Hunter Thomson; Alexia, Michael and Alyssa Schey; Kayla and Veronica Thomson; nine great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jordan and Maddy Thomson; Brie, Ashlyn and Zoey Thomson; Colt and Connor Lemorande; Alaynna Soderlund; one brother, Robert (Vicki) Thomson, Oconto Falls; one sister-in-law, Laurel (Maynard) Kosmal, Mequon; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dale (Pat) Thomson, one sister Yvonne (Robert) Telford and granddaughter Kathy Thomson.
