Roberta “Bobbie” Olshesky

Dec 16, 1933 - Jul 11, 2022

A bright light has gone out of this world because Bobbie Olshesky, 88, Oconto Falls, left us to join her Lord on Monday, July 11, 2022.  She was born December 16, 1933 in Oconto Falls to August and Bertha (Shevey) Olshesky and was a lifelong resident.  After graduating high school, she attended college in Milwaukee to become a med-tech.  After working for a short time in Milwaukee, she returned to Oconto Falls and was employed at Community Memorial Hospital for 40 years.

Survivors are her very special and loving friend, Steve VanBoven; some very close cousins and their families; many friends and co-workers.  Bobbie and Steve spent 35 years together, enjoying visiting with family, their many wonderful friends, eating out and traveling, especially to Branson and cruises in the Caribbean.  As avid Packer fans, they liked to attend games.  If there was a wedding or funeral, you could count on Bobbie and Steve to be there.  Bobbie loved adventure and was fond of animals.  Steve and Bobbie were always there for each other, in good and bad times.  Bobbie also enjoyed singing in church cantatas, especially at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett and was a friend to everyone she met.  Following a car accident 7 months ago, her life hasn’t been easy and spent mostly in hospitals and nursing homes.  Always determined, Bobbie was able to get out on her own this past May 12 and was able to spend special times with her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen (Steve) Vita and other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held after 11:00 am Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Kuhn officiating.  Burial will take place in the Town of Stiles Cemetery.

Bobbie will be fondly remembered as a beautiful soul, always with a smile on her face and being kind to all she met.  She will be missed by all who knew her and now entrust her into the arms of her Saviour, Jesus.
