Robert “Bob” Zaidel

Robert “Bob” James Zaidel, 76, Lena, died Friday morning, December 4, 2020 at home surrounded by family following a 14 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born January 17, 1944 in the Town of Spruce to Joseph and Ruby (Cisler) Zaidel Sr. Bob grew up in the area and attended school, graduating from Lena High School with the class of 1962. While in high school, he began working for Frigo Cheese.

On October 16, 1965 he married Linda Brown in Stiles. The couple has lived in the area most of their married lives where Bob had been employed as a millwright and later for Saputo Cheese for over 20 years. He was a longtime and dedicated member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lena where he served as an elder and took a lead role in personal outreach ministries. Bob will be fondly remembered as an avid fisherman, his love of Ford Mustang convertibles, time spent with family, especially at the cabin and his love for his Lord and Savior.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Linda Zaidel, Lena; their four children, Michelle (Jeff) Ziesmer, Pound; Renee Wirtz, Oconto; Paul (Kathy) Zaidel, Abrams; Lisa Zaidel (Doug Allen), Lena; his mother-in-law, Teresa Brown, Lena; six grandchildren, Alex (Valerie) and Derek (Kyrie) Ziesmer, Stephanie (Jonah) Meyer and Brittany (Jacob) Ellman, Tyler and Analeigh Zaidel; two great grandchildren, Rosie and JJ Meyer; two brothers, Leonard (Lois) Zaidel, Lena; Philip (Gail) Zaidel, Two Rivers; one sister, Marcia Murphy, MI; one sister-in-law, Nina Zaidel, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph Jr. and Tony Zaidel, brother-in-law, Bob Murphy, father-in-law, Allen Brown and granddaughter, Elliana Zaidel.

Private family services will be held at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made for mission trips by local volunteers payable to: Lena Seventh-day Adventist Church, and sent in c/o daughter Michelle Ziesmer, P. O. Box 123, Pound, WI   54161.
