Robert “Bob” Lotter

May 02, 1936 - Jan 14, 2022

Robert “Bob” Lotter, 85, Abrams, died peacefully Friday morning, January 14, 2022 at home.  He was born May 2, 1936 in Oconto Falls to Joseph and Esther (Everard) Lotter.  Bob grew up on the family farm in rural Oconto Falls where he attended St. Anthony Elementary School and Oconto Falls High School.  As a young man, he moved to Milwaukee where he worked for a time before moving back to the area.  Bob was a competitive arm wrestler over the years and held a state championship and took pride in his physical appearance.

In 1960, he married Barbara Friedrichs and they had three children.  As a young family, they moved to Rochester, MN where Bob worked for a cabinet maker.  In the mid-60’s, Bob returned to Oconto Falls and started Lotter Cabinet, later selling that business which is still operated today.  He later started Lotter Woodcraft in Abrams where he specialized in grandfather clocks which were sold all over the Midwest.  Bob had an affection for things with wheels, specifically motorcycles and Chevrolet cars, especially Corvairs which he owned and restored most of his life.  As a wheeler/dealer, Bob was known to frequent flea markets, mostly as a seller but also was known to buy things too.  Bob will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and making people laugh.

Survivors are his special friend of 10 years, Donelda Greer; his three children, Luanne (Bill) Kowalczyk and Curt (Lisa) Lotter, all of Lena; Suzanne Douglas, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Brook (Brittnee) and Kyle Kowalczyk, Mitch and Jacob Lotter, Lindsey (Brice) Hilgemann; three great grandchildren, Emmy and Quinn Hilgemann, Allie Kowalczyk; one sister, Joanne (Roger) Ruplinger, Kelly Lake; one brother-in-law, Bill Angus, Oconto Falls; many nieces and nephews.
