Robert “Bob” L. Schroth

Robert “Bob” L. Schroth, 71, Coleman, died suddenly Thursday afternoon, March 28, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Oconto Falls. The only child of Raymond Schroth Jr. and Dorothy (Trever) Thompson was born September 27, 1947 in Marinette. Bob grew up on the family farm in the Town of Brazeau and attended Oconto Falls Public Schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1965. Following graduation, he entered the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam War.
On March 7, 1970 he married Sharon Valenta at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Klondike. The couple has lived on the family farm all of their married lives where they have continued to live in retirement. Bob also worked as a letter carrier for the US Post Office in Marinette for many years. He was a member of the Jake Belongia DAV, the Coleman American Legion and VFW as well as the National Association of Letter Carriers. Bob was a hardworking, genuine man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends, as well as a round of beers, old fashioneds, a good Wisconsin Friday night fish fry and a Sunday chicken dinner.
Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Sharon Schroth; their daughter, Dr. Terri Schroth; two special dogs, ZuZu and Rocky; aunts, uncles, cousins, two half-brothers and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Leo and Anna Valenta, a special brother-in-law, Ron Valenta and other relatives.
Private family services were held at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Burial with military honors took place in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Klondike.
The family would like to thank Atrium Post Acute Care of Oconto Falls for their care and kindness for Robert during his stay as well as the Town of Brazeau Rescue Squad (all volunteer) who came to the family residence many times the past couple of years to help in so many ways.
