Richard Anthony LaBrosse, 83, of Oconto Falls, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, September 10, 2026. He was the firstborn of Anthony and Frieda (Schindel) LaBrosse, born on September 9, 1943, in Oconto Falls.
Dick grew up in Oconto Falls and graduated with the class of 1962 from Oconto Falls High School. With a passion for numbers and dedication to his work, he pursued an associate's degree in accounting, paving the way for a fulfilling career. Dick began his professional journey at American Auto Sales in Green Bay, later enriching the lives of many during his many years at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. He retired in 1980, proud of the impact he made in the health care industry.
An independent soul, Dick relished time spent outdoors-whether it was four-wheeling in the crisp Wisconsin air, nurturing his beloved garden, or crafting unique wooden creations. He had a lifelong love for cars, often found "putzing around" to restore and maintain them. His greatest joy, however, came from the laughter and camaraderie shared with family, especially his nieces and nephews, as they engaged in spirited games together.
Dick was also an avid genealogist, passionately tracing his family history and fostering connections to his roots. He was a proud family man, leaving behind his loving siblings, Jeanette Kocken, Anthony (Lynn Lotto) LaBrosse, and Gary LaBrosse. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Cory (Jim) Blohm, Terry (Wendy Quigley) Kocken, Joshua LaBrosse, and Keely (Charles Hegeman) Hendricks; great nieces and nephews, Gwendolyn, Erica, Craig, Michael, Marissa, Mason, Ellory, Hayden, Lily, Carolyn, Abi, Will, and Ruth; and 9 (soon to be 10) great great nieces and nephews.
Dick is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anthony and Frieda; his nephew, Jamie Kocken; and sister-in-law, Veronica LaBrosse.
In honor of Dick's remarkable life, a viewing will be held for family and friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM, with a funeral service following at 3:00 PM, officiated by Deacon Peter Gard. Dick will be laid to rest at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
As we gather to remember and celebrate Dick's life, let us reflect on all the joy and love he brought to our lives. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts as we share the stories, laughter, and cherished memories that defined his incredible journey.
