Orlin A. Krieser

Jul 11, 1930 - Oct 07, 2018

Orlin A. Krieser, 88, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Sunday evening, October 7, 2018 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Oconto Falls with his family present.  The youngest of six children of Albert and Agnes (Witneski) Krieser was born July 11, 1930 in the Town of Chase.  Because Orlin’s mother died when he was 11 months old, he was raised by his sisters and had to help on the family farm as a young boy.  It was during these formative years Orlin developed a passion for baseball while listening to Cubs baseball games under the covers of his bed.

On October 4, 1952 he married Joyce E. Bitters at Zion Lutheran Church in Oconto.  The couple lived in Oconto Falls for most of their married lives and raised three children and enjoyed taking them camping and fishing.  Orlin was employed as a cheese maker by Krause Cheese in the Town of Morgan for over 38 years until retirement.  After retiring, he and Joyce enjoyed taking bus trips and casino outings.  As a lifelong Cubs fan, he followed his favorite team and never imagined he’d live long enough to see his beloved “Cubbies” win the 2016 World Series.  As a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oconto, he was a dedicated usher for many years.  Orlin was also well known in the Oconto Falls area for following all sporting events, especially high school and was once named their fan of the year.

Survivors are his three children, Dan (Carol) Krieser, Oconto Falls; Terry (Carol) Krieser, Suamico; Julie (Curtis) Fifield, Oconto Falls; four grandchildren who he dearly loved, Rachel Krieser and Jake (Aria) Krieser, Stephanie (Eric) Paulson and Michael Fifield; two great grandsons, Everett and Emmett Krieser and a great granddaughter on the way; one sister, LaVerne Predayna, MN; a very special cousin and fellow Cubs fan, Nathalie Bookter, Howard; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce in 2005, two brothers Marvin and Alton Krieser and two sisters, Florence Edlbeck and Violet Radtke and special lifelong friend Louis Stepien.

Visitation will be held 4-7pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls.  Visitation will continue after 9:30 am Friday, October 12, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1700 Superior Ave. in Oconto until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 11am Friday at the church with the Rev. Curtis DeCoste officiating.  Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
