Neil Gauthier

Neil Gauthier, 89, Oconto Falls, died of natural causes at home Friday morning, February 18, 2022.  The oldest child of Xavier and Gladys (Exferd) Gauthier was born February 2, 1933 in Oconto Falls.  Neil grew up in Oconto Falls where he attended public schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1952.  Following graduation, he went to work for the former Scott Paper Co. before being drafted into the US Army and serving during the Korean War.  Upon his honorable discharge from the military, he returned to the paper mill and worked until his retirement.  He lived in the family home all of his life, where he cared for his parents and was helpful to all other family members.

Survivors are his five siblings, Ron Gauthier, Lona (Dave) Gregorich, Allen (Berdie) Gauthier, Carol VanDonsel and Terry (Denise) Gauthier; one sister-in-law, Sandy Gauthier; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jeri Gauthier, one brother-in-law Dave VanDonsel and sister-in-law Marilyn Gauthier.

There will be no services held for the public, but private services will be held at a later date.
