Judy Wirtz

Judy Wirtz, 77, Oconto Falls, died Saturday evening, February 29, 2020 at The Cottages at Meadowlands with her family present. She was born August 11, 1942 in Green Bay to Merle and Cecelia (Greatens) Kratz. At the age of 5 years old, her family moved to the Oconto Falls area where she attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School and graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1960.
On October 21, 1961 she married Keith Wirtz at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Judy has lived all of her married life in Oconto Falls where she once worked as an aide at the local hospital for 6 years and also at Sharpe Care nursing home and in home health care for Oconto County. She was also well known and appreciated for her cooking skills by the many students of St. Anthony School for the delicious meals she made for 21 years. Judy also cooked at River Island Golf Club for over 16 years and was still assisting in 2018. Judy and Keith enjoyed traveling, especially with good friends Morey and Cookie Whiting, to numerous places. They’ve also wintered in Texas the past 11 years. She was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors are her husband of 58 years, Keith Wirtz; their two sons, Kevin (Julie) and Devin (Ashley) Wirtz, all of Oconto Falls; three grandchildren, Josh (Aly) Wirtz, Amanda (Tom) Zielinski and Matthew Wirtz; four great grandchildren, Ethan and Easton Zielinski; Michael and Kellen Wirtz; two sisters-in-law, Bev Kratz and Beverly Krause, both of Oconto Falls; one brother-in-law, Larry (Lynn) Wirtz, Oconto Falls; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Bonnie Clausen, Betty and Kathleen Kratz and infant Margaret, one brother Norman Kratz and brother-in-law Chet (Janice) Wirtz.
Visitation will be held 4-8pm Monday, March 9, 2020 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue after 9:30am Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Bob Karuhn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
