Jerry Lee Fischer

July 18, 1958 — May 11, 2026

Oconto Falls

Jerry "Baby Edgar" Fischer, 67, of Oconto Falls, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2026. He was born July 18, 1958 to Edgar and Dolores (Gipp) Fischer.

Jerry graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the Class of 1977. Following high school, he ventured out of state, working as a landscaper in Florida and Las Vegas before returning to Wisconsin. He found his calling as a truck driver, working for several companies, including I. Bahcall/Russell Metals, Composite One, Titletown Trucking, FedEx Freight, and Duame Trucking.

Jerry and Vicki (Strehlow) celebrated their marriage on October 19, 1991, and together they cherished traveling and creating unforgettable memories. He proudly planted hundreds of trees on his family farm and reveled in outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. His passion for collecting gas and oil signs, Harley memorabilia, buying and selling on eBay, and attending live auctions showcased his vibrant personality.

Known for his storytelling, Jerry was always eager to share tales from his life, whether with his morning coffee group at Milk & Honey Cafe or alongside his AA friends. Though he enjoyed Busch Light and bourbon, he has been sober for four years, four months and eight days. He cherished his time of recovery, which inspired many.

In 2014, Jerry fulfilled his dream of building a home on the Fischer Family Farm, where he enjoyed the pond he and his father dug and the wildlife that surrounded it. His heart was as expansive as his spirit, as he volunteered at Bellin Hospital, Bellin Children's Hospital, HSHS St. Clare's, and Kingdom Come Food Pantry.

He is survived by wife of 34 years, Vicki; sisters, Judi Corrigan and Jan (Ray) Sutrick; nieces and nephews, Patrick Corrigan, Krissi (Rich Compton) Corrigan, Corey (Julie) Sutrick, Valerie (Chris) Brooks, Amanda (Paul Kiel) Thomas, and Marisa Thomas; great nieces and nephews, Jackson, Lydia, Montana (Brett), Savanna (Logan), Kaitlin, and Dylan; great-great niece and nephew, Aiden and Riley; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Strehlow, Ellen Meverden, Gail (Bob) Thomas; brother-in-law, Marlie Strehlow; and nephew-in-law, Cal Bischof.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Dolores; sister, Joanne Fischer; niece, Terri Bischof; nephew, Kelly Sutrick; brothers-in-law, Robert Guyette and James Meverden; and nephew, Matthew Meverden.
