Harold W. Delzer

Harold W. Delzer, 93, Morgan, died Saturday afternoon, October 16, 2021 at a Green Bay hospital.  He was born March 30, 1928 to Hugo and Ella (Retzlaff) Delzer Sr.  Harold grew up in the Town of Morgan and graduated from Oconto Falls High School.

On January 27, 1951 he married Beryl Calba in Oconto.  The couple farmed their entire married lives in the Town of Morgan with the help of family members and good friends.  Harold was well known for making firewood and always had plenty on hand, years in advance.  He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan and once served on church council.  Harold also served on the Morgan Coop Board for many years as well as the ASCS Board for Oconto County.  In his later years, Harold enjoyed his job at the Town of Morgan Recycling Center where he loved meeting and helping people.

Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Beryl Delzer; their two sons, Robert (Linda) and Dennis (Kaye) Delzer; two granddaughters, Carmen (Shaun) Knight and Janel (Shawn) Van Ooyen; two great granddaughters, Marissa Rum and Kyra Van Ooyen; two sisters, Dorothy Petka and Anita Hansen; one sister-in-law, Joan Delzer, Morgan; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Alfred (Lois), Hugo (Betty) Jr., George and Otto (Delores) Delzer and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ervin Hansen and Ben Petka; Jeanette (Richard) Gnabasik, Lloyd (Dorothy) Stephien, Marvin (Bernadette) Calba and June (Don) Suttley.

Visitation will be held after 10:00 am Friday, October 22, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in the Town of Morgan until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday at the church with Pastor Fred Mai officiating.  Burial will follow in the Town of Morgan Cemetery.
