It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Gary Friedman, 67, of Oconto Falls, on Monday, June 8, 2026, following a courageous battle with advanced leukemia. He was born July 18, 1958 to William and Gladys (Martin) Friedman of Little Suamico. He graduated from Oconto Falls High School, Class of 1976. Gary married Gerri Delzer on October 17, 1980 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett. Together they raised their four children on the Delzer Family Farm.
Our dad was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. A hardworking farmer, he dedicated his life to providing for his family and caring for the land he loved. Family meant everything to him, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with those he loved most.
He will be remembered for his big, contagious smile, his genuine sense of humor, and his ability to make others laugh. He had a kind heart, a strong work ethic, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. Whether through a helping hand, a funny story, or simply his presence, he touched the lives of so many.
Gary is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gerri; children, Ryan (Jenny) Friedman, Stefanie (Matt) Wendt, Heidi (Andrew) Smaney, and Emmie (Dylan) Kamm; grandchildren, Dakota Friedman, Landon Friedman, Laikyn Wendt, Griffin Smaney, and Nora Kamm; siblings, Roger (Janet) Friedman, Nancy (Frank) Allgeyer, Bonnie (Glenn) Sowle, James Friedman, and Ron (Karen) Friedman; mother-in-law, Donna Delzer; siblings-in-law, Brent (Amy) Delzer, Jay (Amy Myrick) Delzer, Jill (Tim) Wentworth, and Joel (Jessica) Delzer; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys; father-in-law, William Delzer; and nephews, Grant Delzer and Drew Sowle.
A visitation for family and friends will be held after 2:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Chris Byars and Gary's nephew, Pastor Mitchell Friedman.
A special thank you to the team at Emplify Health by Bellin, especially Mitch Lind and the oncology department.
While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. We are grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Dad, your love, laughter, and strength will remain with us forever. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered every day.
