Floyd Joseph "Joe" Spice of Lily, WI, formally of Oconto Falls, peacefully passed away on July 6, 2025. Joe was born on August 12, 1948 to Floyd "Bud" and Marilyn "Jean" (Nemojeski) Spice.
Joe grew up and attended school in Oconto Falls. He had many great stories about his friendships, school activities, and sport memories. He married Faith "Faye" on August 16, 1975, at St. Anthony's Church and they continued to live in the community for many years, until moving to Lily.
His career journey began as a traveling construction worker for the local Carpenters Union, which influenced his father to start the family-owned construction business. After Joe began working maintenance for the Oconto Falls District and then proceeded to work as the maintenance supervisor for the City of Green Bay Police Department and finally ending with being a dedicated business owner. He proudly operated Joe's Place Bar and Grill, (Lily, WI) where Joe and Faye created a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who visited. His passion for connecting with people was evident in the countless stories he shared and the friendships he forged throughout his life.
Joe was a proud father to his children, Tamara and Joseph, and cherished his time with his daughter-in-law, Kimberly and son-in-law David. He also found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Sean, Courtney, and Hannah, by delighting in every opportunity to teach his grandkids new skills and share memorable experiences. His love for the outdoors kept him active, whether he was working on his properties, taking on new construction projects, or simply enjoying time spent in nature.
Joe's enthusiasm for music was deeply rooted in his family heritage, with many fond memories stemming from the polka band he shared with his brothers. This love of music echoed through the generations as he passed it down to his children and grandchildren. His commitment to the Boy Scouts was a significant part of his life with his son, serving as a leader in Oconto Falls and later re-engaging with his grandson Sean's scouting journey to achieve Eagle Scout.
Joe's spirit will be remembered for the joy he brought to the lives of those around him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joe is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Faith; daughter, Tamara Smith; son, Joseph (Kimberly) Spice; grandchildren, Sean, Courtney, and Hannah; father, Floyd "Bud" Spice; siblings, Gerald Spice, Judy Ellie, Calvin Spice, Robert (Jenny) Spice, Harry Spice, Janet (Todd) Schmidt, and Janice (Robert) Schmidt, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Spice.
