Oconto Falls

Floyd J. Spice, Sr, son of Harry and Josephine (Gallas) Spice, was born in Oconto Falls, WI on February 17, 1928. He died December 28, 2025 at Good Shepherd Home in Seymour.

Floyd graduated from the Oconto Falls High school in 1946. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy Air Force and member of the American Legion Post 337.

Floyd started in the construction trade with his father, Harry Spice, and went on to become a well-known building contractor in the Oconto Falls area, building homes in Neenah, Menasha, and Oconto County areas for over 40 years. He operated and owned Spice Construction, in which he worked with his sons, Joe, Calvin and Harry. Floyd worked while in retirement as an apartment manager.

Floyd married the former, Marilyn Nemojeski at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena, WI on May 1, 1948. Together they celebrated over 70 years of marriage, having five sons and three daughters. He and Marilyn enjoyed following their sons' (Joe, Jerry, and Bob) polka band on weekends.

Floyd is survived by his children, Gerald Spice, Judy Ellie, Calvin Spice, Robert (Jenny) Spice, Harry Spice, Janet (Todd) Schmidt, and Janice (Robert) Schmidt; daughter-in-law, Faith Spice; eighteen grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; son, Floyd Joseph Spice Jr; parents, Josphine and Harry; mother and father in-law, Josphine and Joseph Nemojeski; sister, Phyllis Rusch; son-in-law, Dennis Ellie; and grandchildren, Kara Spice Rojo and Steven Spice.

Floyd was very proud and enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Spice family would like to thank the staff at Good Shepherd Home and Dr. Schinschke for the quality of care provided for Mom & Dad.

Private family services will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
