Charles “Charlie” L. Walske

Charles “Charlie” L. Walske, 73, Lena, died suddenly Wednesday evening, November 3, 2021 at home of natural causes.  He was born August 31, 1948 in the Town of Green Valley to Wilbert “Joe” and Berwyn (Birr) Walske.  As an infant, he moved with his family to rural Lena where he grew up and attended school.

As a young man he went to work for Frigo Cheese in Lena where he worked in the warehouse and did training until his retirement in 2015.  He was a lifelong member of the Lena and Oconto Falls United Methodist Churches.  Charlie also belonged to the Oconto River Bowmen, where he once served as president, Whitetails Unlimited, the Sno-Jokers snowmobile club and the National Turkey and Crane Foundations.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his dog, Daisy.

Survivors are his six siblings, JoAnne (Curt) Gipp, Townsend; Ellen Gelhar, Boise, ID; David (Jacquelyn) Walske, Lena; Susan (Bill) Jarvey, Barbara Petska and Lynn (Shawn) Ward all of Las Vegas, NV; his very dear friends, Jim and Sandy Rieth and family; Stephanie and Tim Wirhanowicz and his adopted grandchildren, Elena and Titan; Nadine Hogan; many nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jeffrey Brian and Jerry and two brothers-in-law, Dennis Gelhar and Ron Petska.

Visitation will be held after 9:00 am Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Sherwin Parmar officiating.  Burial will follow in the Town of Morgan Cemetery.
