Carol Coopman, 91, of Oconto Falls, died peacefully Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026. She was born in Oconto Falls on June 7, 1934, the second of six children, to Matthew and Evelyn (Kain) Ingram. She attended area schools and graduated with the class of 1953 from Oconto Falls High School. On February 12, 1955 she married Donald Coopman at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
For over 30 years, Carol worked with the Oconto Falls School District as a cherished lunch lady, where her warmth and kindness were felt by countless students. She loved getting hugs from the children and took great joy in being a nurturing presence in their lives. Her love of children was evident in everything she did.
Carol was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church and a founding member of Kingdom Come Food Pantry, where she found fellowship and community. Outside of her work and church life, Carol enjoyed spending time with her friends, particularly during their regular lunches at S&S, watching motorcycle runs, shooting pool, and holding little babies any chance she got.
Survivors include her four children, Gwen Jarvi, Richard Coopman, Brian (Kristin) Coopman, and Tim (Laurie) Coopman; ten grandchildren, Lora (Brian), Lana, Tressa (Garret), Michael, Matt, Ashley (Eric), Tyler (McKenzie), Elizabeth (Sam), Aaron (Brook), Angela (Tom); twelve great grandchildren and one more on the way; brother, Matt (Linda) Ingram; and sister, Kathy Schellhaas.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Big Don; parents, Matthew and Evelyn; and three siblings, Marilyn, Jane and Dennis.
Visitation for family and friends will be held after 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Shadrach Muhima officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
In lieu of flowers, all memorial donations will go toward Kingdom Come Food Pantry.
A special thanks to the staffs of Rennes Health & Rehab Center, Unity Hospice and Jones Funeral Service for their compassionate care.
