Antone Joseph Sutrick (Junior), devoted husband, father, cherished friend, and guiding light to all who knew him, passed away on March 26, 2026 at the age of 93.
Born on January 26, 1933, in Lena, Wisconsin, Tony lived a life defined by love, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his family. He grew up on a family farm in Abrams and carried those early values with him throughout his life, shaping the remarkable man he became.
Above all, Tony was a loving husband to Janice. Married on June 4, 1960, in Krakow, WI at St Casimir Catholic church, they started their life together. Living on Acacia Street in Milwaukee for 40 years, they raised 5 children who were his greatest pride and his life's purpose. He offered constant support, wisdom, and encouragement, teaching by example what it means to be kind, resilient, and compassionate. Whether through quiet moments of advice or shared laughter, he built a legacy of love that will endure for generations.
Tony spent his professional life at Continental Can Company as fork truck driver, where he was respected for his hard work, character, and commitment. He retired after 40 years and built his dream home in the town of Morgan. Here, the garage is where he welcomed visitors, with a warm fire in the winter and fresh country air in the summer, this was his happy place. In retirement he enjoyed gardening and playing horseshoes at the Hilltop in Sampson. At his new home nothing meant more than the time he spent with family, celebrating holidays, hunting camp, and just spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He had a passion for the outdoors, early on, hunting for deer with his dad and brothers, heading out west to hunt mule deer, then bringing his sons to hunting camp off Brehmer road with his little brother Jim. For many years, his good friend Joe Pagac opened his cabin on Columbus Lake to Tony and his sons for an "opening day" fishing trip. Near home, Tony enjoyed salmon fishing from shore on Lake Michigan, with a 22# Chinook being his personal best catch.
Those who knew him will remember his calm demeanor, generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. He always put others first and made everyone feel valued and cared for.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice (Rymer), and loving children, Tony (Joann), Tim (Diane), Tina Lemmerman (Steve), Rodney (Therese), and Neal (Heidi). He was preceded in death by Todd (son). He leaves behind brothers, Edwin (Irene), Thomas (Marge), Raymond (Jan), and James (Sandy), sisters, Dorthy (Larry), Ceil (Don), Janice (Wayne), and Barbara. He was preceded in death by parents Anton and Stella, brother Dan (Mable), and sister Marion (Earl). He leaves behind grandchildren Michael, Peter, Matthew, Jacob, Callie, Erica, Robin, Mitchell, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Kyra, Jack, Kolby, and Emily. Great grandchildren Landon, Nash, CJ, Raylin, and Elroy.
A Catholic Mass and Rite of Committal will be held on April 1 at St Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, officiated by Father Tom Pomeroy. 11am Vigil and 1pm Funeral Mass followed by Rite of Committal at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans, reflecting his generous spirit.
Though he is no longer with us, Tony's love, lessons, and legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him Husband, Friend, and Dad.
"A father's love is eternal-and his lives on in us."
