Anna Young

Feb 02, 1983 - Dec 24, 2021

Anna Young, 38, Milwaukee, formerly of Oconto Falls, died suddenly Christmas Eve Day, December 24, 2021 at her residence of an apparent accidental overdose.  She has struggled with addiction issues most of her adult life.  She was the oldest of two daughters born February 2, 1983 to Dean and Elizabeth Erin (Hyland) Young in Oconto Falls.  The Young family lived in Gillett before moving to Oconto Falls where Anna attended St. Anthony Elementary and graduated Oconto Falls High School with the class of 2001.  She moved with her parents to Michigan and Hawaii and while living on Oahu, wrote her memoir from an addict’s perspective.  Anna will be lovingly remembered for her good sense of humor and showing others another perspective of things in life.

Survivors are her parents, Dean and Elizabeth Young, Port Washington; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister Angela in 2003, paternal grandparents, Donald and Betty Young and maternal grandparents, Robert and Grace Hyland.

Visitation will be held after 9:00 am Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Greg Parent officiating.  Burial will follow next to her sister in the parish cemetery.
