Alfred “Fred” Morrell

Alfred “Fred” Morrell, 74, died Monday morning, October 10, 2022 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.  He was born August 2, 1948 in Oconto Falls to Chester and Clarabelle (Whiting) Morrell.  Alfred grew up in Stiles and attended Oconto Falls Public Schools, graduating high school with the class of 1966.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he served in Thailand during the Vietnam War.  Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Oconto Falls where he was once employed by Scott Paper Co. and McDermid Transportation until his retirement.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Stiles.  Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and interacting with his nieces and nephews, and being “Silly Uncle Fred”.

Survivors are his two brothers, Chuck (Nancy) Morrell, Warrens, WI; Tom (Susie) Younger, Howard; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Danny Younger and Chet Morrell, one sister Suzy Ashbaugh and stepdad Vincent Younger.

Visitation with the urn present will be held 9:00 until 11:00 am Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Saturday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
